Ray 4.0.13 Beta

Guided tours, better subtitle controls, and a clearer Purple

Ray 4.0.13 introduces guided tours, improves the subtitle experience, and makes it easier to follow what Ray is doing.

Get to know Ray

  • Guided tours walk you through Ray’s experiences and their controls.

  • Skip a tour whenever you like, or return through Help → Take a tour.

  • See which guides you’ve completed.

  • Tours and Help are available in every supported interface language.

More control over subtitles

  • With subtitles active, the rewind and forward controls jump to the previous or next subtitle. Otherwise, they skip 10 seconds.

  • Progressive Cloud subtitles let you start watching available captions while processing continues.

  • Changing a Cloud subtitle language or layout can reuse uploaded content while its access remains valid.

  • Refresh retrieves the latest saved Cloud captions. Regenerate creates a new result. Hover explanations clarify each action.

  • Available captions are retained during temporary retrieval failures.

  • Turning subtitles off also hides their green timeline coverage.

  • Subtitle source selection is now in Subtitle settings, with embedded tracks accessible from the language menu.

  • Improved handling of speaker changes, singing, mixed-language dialogue, and subtitle line breaks.

  • Clearer notices explain temporary Cloud processing allowances, reset times, and capacity waits.

A clearer Purple

  • Improved responsiveness when reopening the panel.

  • The panel fills the right column and covers the controls behind it.

  • More visible activity indicators help show when processing is continuing.

  • Hover over the Purple button to check the current stage and progress.

  • Cloud progress follows the server’s estimate, while timeline coverage reflects available subtitle cues.

  • Retry actions appear inside relevant error cards, with cleaner playback and completion controls.

Studio, Channels, and Community

  • More per-file subtitle and output choices in Studio, plus configurable table columns.

  • Clearer model-download and background-processing progress.

  • Series in Channels open a season and episode browser.

  • Community is available inside Ray, with Discussions, Bug reports, and Feature requests, plus an option to continue in your browser.

Other improvements

This release also includes improvements to subtitle timing and formatting, media-error reporting, memory guidance, diagnostics, and Windows uninstall options.

Known issues: We’re investigating reports of local subtitle processing and model-download failures on some Windows PCs. If you encounter a problem, please include Copy diagnostics from the error when posting a bug report.
